The recent warm spell has heralded the appearance of a number of butterflies that have been absent until this point so this is the perfect time to be guided by our resident expert Dee Cullen. We’ll start by the old railway tunnels near the Holmesdale Road entrance\, then explore what the wildflower rich Wildlife Trail has to offer. The walk is free but there are limited places. SUMMARY:The Wildlife Trail Biodiversity Project
DESCRIPTION:Volunteers meet every Wednesday morning all year round to maintain and develop the site. The aim is to create an environment that is sympathetic to a wide range of wildflowers and invertebrates. The team carefully manages individual parts of the site and attempts to control invasive species of plant or those that threaten to dominate.
