The Mayor of London’s National Park City Festival
London National Park City is a movement to improve life in London by helping make our city greener and encouraging people to get outdoors more.
With a long-term challenge to improve our connections with nature and the outdoors through many small and achievable actions the vision is to:
- enjoy London’s great outdoors more,
- make the city greener, healthier and wilder; and
- promote London’s identity as a National Park City.
The Mayor of London’s National Park City Festival invites you to discover London’s amazing outdoors with events across the city, from outdoor fitness sessions and live performances to bee-keeping and open water events for the family. The Mayor of London is working with the National Park City Foundation, other partners and Londoners to make London the first National Park City. Join a festival event from 20 to 28 July and let’s together make our city greener, healthier and wilder. Find out more at www.london.gov.uk/national-park-city
Parkland Walk will be helping join the fun. With grant funding from the GLA/Mayor of London the Friends have organised a series of free talks and guided tours to help encourage you to learn and explore more. We shall also be opening our Wildlife Trail and encouraging children and young people with a fun quiz and other activities. On Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 July we shall have a small display showing the history of the Walk and allowing you to find out more about volunteering. Details of how to book your place on a guided talk will be here from late June.
