The Parkland Walk is an ideal educational environment for young people. We are very keen to establish links with schools and offer them opportunities to use the walk as an educational resource so that young people can learn to appreciate what a unique environment this is in an urban area and how important it is to understand its role as a wildlife habitat and recreational experience.
The walk is first and foremost a nature reserve which aims to protect and enhance habitats for a diverse range of trees, plants, flowers, insects, birds and other creatures and this means that we wouldn't want to encourage groups marching over delicate areas. However, there are many ways to explore the walk and we would like to develop these opportunities.
If you have any ideas or suggestions, or would like to consider involving students from local schools please don't hesitate to get in touch.
